Costanziaca Vicus is a project
recovery, protection and enhancement of historical and archaeological heritage Costanziaca of an ancient submerged island in the lagoon north of Venice referred to survive two edges: the islands diSant'Ariano and care, now abandoned. The project brings together the synergies of different institutions, and above all of the Superintendence for Archaeological Heritage of the Veneto Nucleus Operating NAUSICAA and the University Ca 'Foscari, scientific officer. The initiative aims at the recovery, protection and enhancement of the former island of Costanziaca and its historical, natural and archaeological. Explore the area which stretches from Altino and Torcello is an opportunity to reconstruct the history of Venice before diVenezia, by the reconnaissance, the archaeological excavations and underwater surveys, the project will provide a new perspective on the origins of Venice and information on routes between inland and sea and on the process of settlement which developed along the trade routes that crossed the area lagunare.Il unique research environment requires also the supervision Centre of Natural City of Venice.
