Costanziaca Vicus is a project
recovery, protection and enhancement of historical and archaeological heritage Costanziaca of an ancient submerged island in the lagoon north of Venice referred to survive two edges: the islands diSant'Ariano and care, now abandoned. The project brings together the synergies of different institutions, and above all of the Superintendence for Archaeological Heritage of the Veneto Nucleus Operating NAUSICAA and the University Ca 'Foscari, scientific officer. The initiative aims at the recovery, protection and enhancement of the former island of Costanziaca and its historical, natural and archaeological. Explore the area which stretches from Altino and Torcello is an opportunity to reconstruct the history of Venice before diVenezia, by the reconnaissance, the archaeological excavations and underwater surveys, the project will provide a new perspective on the origins of Venice and information on routes between inland and sea and on the process of settlement which developed along the trade routes that crossed the area lagunare.Il unique research environment requires also the supervision Centre of Natural City of Venice. The European Commission is to close proceedings for the protection of the environment in the lagoon of Venice "reiterating the need to ensure a fair balance between the need to protect Venice, on the one hand, and to safeguard the ecological importance of the lagoon on the other" and "will continue to monitor the implementation of the package of measures announced by the Italian authorities ": what is today providing the Commission with respect to open proceedings against Italy for the realization of Moses, the system of dams against high water.
The Commission has announced that it intends to close the case "as a result of the measures that the Italian authorities have recently proposed to limit the extent of damage to ecosystems and to offset the impact of the works."
